Welcome to Kyadondo Technical Institute

At KTI, we offer comprehensive technical education programmes designed to equip students with practical skills and knowledge for successful careers in various technical fields. Our programmes are accredited by the Ministry of Education and Sports and recognised by industry partners across Uganda.

We provide three main levels of technical education: Polytechnic Certificates for PLE leavers, National Certificates for UCE leavers, and National Diploma courses for certificate holders seeking advanced qualifications.

Admissions

How to Apply

KTI offers Standard, Evening, Weekend and Online study programmes at Polytechnic Certificate, National Certificate and National Diploma level.

Evening Programmes

Designed for the working class and any person who meets admission requirements. Classes run on weekday evenings.

Weekend Programmes

Designed for working professionals who prefer to maintain weekday commitments while studying on Saturdays and Sundays.

Online Programmes

Available for students with access to a computer and internet who prefer flexible, remote study options.

Programme Entry Requirements

Polytechnic Certificates

3 Years

Technical certificate programmes for students who have completed Primary Leaving Examination (PLE).

  • At least 2 passes in PLE obtained at the same sitting

National Certificates

2 Years

For students who have completed Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or equivalent.

  • At least 3Ds at O' Level (New Curriculum)
  • At least 3 passes at O' level (Old Curriculum)
  • A Polytechnic Certificate in a related field from UBTEB

National Diploma

2 Years

Advanced diploma programmes for students who have completed National Certificate or equivalent.

  • UACE Certificate with at least one principal pass and two subsidiaries
  • At least 3 passes, one of which MUST be Mathematics at O'level
  • A National Certificate in a related field from UBTEB
Registration

Internal Examinations

Conducted by KTI for continuous assessment and semester evaluations. Students must register according to the academic calendar.

Steps

  1. Check Academic Calendar — Review the examination schedule and deadlines
  2. Register — Register with the Academic Registrar's Office
  3. Enroll — Enroll for course units in the student portal
  4. Verify Eligibility — Confirm you are eligible to sit examinations
  5. Confirmation — Receive examination card and schedule

Requirements

  • Valid student ID card
  • Course registration confirmation
  • Minimum 75% attendance record
  • Completed coursework assignments
  • Examination fee payment receipt

Registration

External Examinations

Conducted by national examining bodies. Students must meet all programme requirements before registering.

Steps

  1. Check Examination Calendar — Review external schedules and deadlines
  2. Verify Programme Completion — Ensure completion of required coursework
  3. Submit Registration Data — Submit to the Academic Registrar's Office
  4. Payment Processing — Pay examination fees through designated channels
  5. Confirmation — Receive examination entry card and venue details

  • Academic transcripts and certificates
  • National ID or passport
  • Passport size photographs (4 copies)
  • Examination fee payment
