Welcome to Kyadondo Technical Institute

At KTI, we offer comprehensive technical education programs designed to equip students with practical skills and knowledge for successful careers in various technical fields. Our programs are accredited by the Ministry of Education and Sports and recognized by industry partners across Uganda.

We provide three main levels of technical education: Polytechnic Certificates for PLE leavers, National Certificates for UCE leavers, and National Diploma courses for certificate holders seeking advanced qualifications.

How to Apply

Kyadondo Technical Institute offers Standard Study Programmes and Weekend study opportunities at different levels of your career, our programmes range from Polytechnic Certificates, National Certificates as well as National Diploma courses.

We also offer Online Study Programmes for students who prefer to study online and have access to the internet and a computer.

Evening Study programmes - designed to offer opportunities to mainly the working class although any interested person who meets the admission requirements can apply to be considered for admission.
Weekend Study programmes - designed to accommodate working professionals and individuals who prefer to study during weekends while maintaining their weekday commitments.

Examination Registration Process

At Kyadondo Technical Institute, we conduct both internal and external examinations. Students must register for their respective examinations according to the academic calendar and examination schedules.

Internal Examinations

Internal examinations are conducted by KTI for continuous assessment and semester evaluations.

Registration Steps:

Check Academic Calendar: Review the examination schedule and registration deadlines
Register: Register with the Academic Registrar's Office
Enroll: Enroll for the course units that you have in that semester/term/session in the student portal
Verify Eligibility: Verify that you are eligible to sit for the examinations
Confirmation: Receive examination card and schedule

Valid student ID card
Course registration confirmation
Minimum 75% attendance record
Completed coursework assignments
Examination fee payment receipt

External Examinations

External examinations are conducted by national examining bodies including UVTAB.

Registration Steps:

Check Examination Calendar: Review external examination schedules and deadlines
Verify Program Completion: Ensure completion of required coursework and internal assessments
Submit the registration data: Submit the registration data to the Academic Registrar's Office
Payment Processing: Pay examination fees through designated channels
Pay the fees: Pay the required examination fees using the payment options provided, such as online through the bank or via mobile money.
Confirmation: Receive examination entry card and venue details

National ID or passport
Passport size photographs (4 copies)
Medical certificate (if required)

Program Requirements

Academic qualifications for each program level

Polytechnic Certificates

Technical certificate programs for students who have completed Primary Leaving Examination (PLE).

Admission Requirements:

At least 2 passes in PLE obtained at the same sitting

Duration: 3 years

National Certificates

National certificate courses for students who have completed Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or equivalent.

Admission Requirements:

At least 3Ds at O' Level (New Curriculum)
At least 3 passes at O' level (Old Curriculum)
A Polytechnic Certificate in a related field from UBTEB

Duration: 2 years

National Diploma

Advanced diploma programs for students who have completed National Certificate or equivalent qualification.

Admission Requirements:

UACE Certificate with at least one principal pass and two subsidiaries
Atleast 3 passes and one of which MUST be in Mathematics at O'level
A National Certificate in a related field from UBTEB.
